James Brown Memorabilia

The IP Stanback Museum and Planetarium is proud to announce the acquisition of items and memorabilia from the estate of the great James Brown.

Museum Director Ellen Zisholtz and her staff have visited the estate in Beech Island, SC and have been busy sorting and cataloging items, readying them for exhibition during Homecoming week in October, 2008.

Visitors will be able to view The Godfather of Soul's costumes and everyday clothes, shoes, furniture, handwritten letters, and music. A re-creation of some of the rooms in his home, particularly his hair salon, is also planned.
