
The IP Stanback Museum and Planetarium was host Thursday, October 23 to Ron Daise, writer, actor, educator, and host of the Nick Jr. television series Gullah Gullah Island, which ran from 1994-2005, and was selected by TV Guide as one of their top ten children's TV shows of 1996.This event was the second in The Journey Continues
series of lectures, workshops and performances accompanying the Journey From Africa to Gullah exhibition.
Daise presented an excellent slide show in the Stanback Planetarium and engaged the overflowing audience in a sing-along. In his presentation, Daise connected Gullah words and phrases with those of Sierra Leone, where many Gullah people can trace their ancestry.
